Ronnie L is a multi-award-winning gospel artist who broke onto the music scene in 2015, hosting the Night of African Gospel concert at the World of Yamaha. He has since released his debut album titled “A Call to Love” in Feb 2019. The album has won the Tshivenda Music Awards for Best Newcomer and the Crown Gospel Music Award for Best Gospel R&B track for his song “Lord I Love You.” The debut album was preceded by his EP titled Nne Ndi Lila, released in 2016. Included in his body of work are two singles released in 2020, Mudzimu wa Isiraele and Call Him.
Ronnie L has recently released his second album titled Rabela – A Story of Restoration. This is his latest offering, which is a testament to God’s ability to restore a person holistically in all areas of life. The ten-track album features predominantly new compositions and takes the listener through a journey of prayer, hope after loss, God’s unchanging love, God’s sovereignty, grace, goodness, and finally, restorative blood. The album is rooted in the Word of God, with the anchor scriptures Philippians 4:6 and 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.
Ronnie is a worshiper at heart who believes in the ministry behind gospel music. He was groomed in the Church from an early age and became part of the church choir when he was 13 years old. He firmly believes in the gift of worship as a powerful tool to foster a deeper relationship with God and to grow spiritually.
Ronnie has collaborated with several artists, including Brian Temba, Nqubeko Mbatha, Takie Ndou, Xolani Mdlalose, Choko, Dudu Makhoba, Sibusiso Nzima, GBR Worship, and the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra.
Ronnie has worked hard over the years to build an audience with an appreciation for his refined and unique sound through various performances both in South Africa and the SADC region. He has appeared on several TV productions, including Gospel Classics on SABC 2, Gospel Avenue on SABC 1, Partnership Time on TBN Africa, A New Thing on TBN Africa, In Concert With on One Gospel, The Spotlight on One Gospel, Morning Live, and other notable platforms.
Driven by a desire to fully explore and utilize his skills and talents, Ronnie is also a radio presenter and broadcaster who hosted two radio shows weekly to audiences of over a hundred thousand listeners on Rainbow FM 90.7. After his 2-year stint at Rainbow FM, he was approached to conceptualize, produce, and present a new show on Kofifi FM 97.2 called The Rhythm of Praise. The show has attracted premier gospel artists, professionals, business executives, and entrepreneurs since its inception in Feb 2022. The Rhythm of Praise is a lifestyle show that broadcasts every Sunday morning from 6 to 8 am on Kofifi FM.
Ronnie also hosts three global business events as a Master of Ceremonies on an annual basis. These events attract high-level delegates from around the globe, including former heads of state, cabinet ministers, members of parliament, and captains of industry from various sectors of the economy.
Apart from his life as a gospel artist, Ronnie is a father and business executive with a successful corporate career spanning over 18 years. He holds a Master’s degree in Commerce and is a Chief Operating Officer in an investment holding company. Based on his experience in corporate, Ronnie L also participates in several business and industry panels, career guidance initiatives to empower the youth, and conducts motivational talks from time to time.
