“You Are Time” Asks What We Owe Ourselves in Love

The central conflict in “You Are Time” is not simply between two people. It is between what we give to love and what we owe ourselves.

Osinaël’s narrator wants connection, but she also senses that attachment can become a form of disappearance. The song asks how much compromise is possible before a person loses contact with their own needs. This is not framed as a rejection of love. On the contrary, the track recognises its power. The difficulty lies in remaining present as an individual while becoming emotionally connected to someone else.

The line “Are you the wolf or reason?” therefore applies to both sides of the relationship. It questions the loved one, but it can also be heard as a question the narrator asks herself. By leaving the answer unresolved, Osinaël allows the song to become a mirror rather than a lesson.

“You Are Time” ultimately suggests that self-respect and love do not have to be enemies. Time offers the possibility of understanding where one ends, where the other begins and what must change for both to survive.
